At Pan American Academy, the English for Speakers of Other Languages Program (ESOL), is designed to provide special instruction for students whose home language is not English. At Pan American Academy, we provide this support to ESOL students by conducting small groups within the students' regular classrooms. During small group time, we tailor the instruction to meet the students' specific language goals in listening, speaking, reading and writing English.

By co-teaching in the regular classrooms, we are able to provide students with the academic content they need and also modify it to improve their overall understanding of the English language. Currently, we have three ESOL teachers at Pan American. Mr. Robert Carr teaches sixth and seventh grade ESOL students within their regular classrooms. Mrs. Mindy Carrera teaches third, fourth and fifth grade ESOL students within their regular classrooms.The ESOL students in first and second grade are receiving services from Miss Marissa D'Ambrosio. Our Kindergarten ESOL students are serviced through the Dual Language Program.
