Pan American Academy Charter School invites qualified, committed, intentional, results-oriented teachers who are fluent Spanish speakers to apply for elementary classroom positions. Essential Functions of a Pan American Academy Teacher:
o Develop effective, inquiry-based lesson plans, homework assignments
and assessments that align with state standards and the instructional
standards of Pan American Academy Charter School.
o Effectively and consistently enforce our school-wide classroom management
procedures.
o Collaborate with other faculty to discuss student work, share best
practices, and ensure student success.
o Maintain close relationships with families, including home visits,
phone calls and conferences, and tutor those students who need extra
support.
o Participate in on-going professional development
Qualifications
o Bachelor's degree
o Must have or be working towards a Pennsylvania Teacher Certification,
dual certifications preferred
o Must be able to work collaboratively in a non-traditional, inner-city
environment
o Must be a fluent Spanish speaker able to teach major core subjects
in Spanish
o Outstanding instructional skills, including the ability to motivate
and challenge students and maintain an orderly classroom environment
o Ability to create inquiry-based units and lessons that support the
international mindedness of Pan American Academy
o A strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement
o A belief that all students should be held to high academic standards
o The ability to communicate effectively with parents
o Demonstrated professionalism and responsibility, and a strong work
ethic
o A positive, high-energy attitude and a drive for personal excellence
o The ability to problem-solve, be flexible and have a sense of humor
are required
Salary & Compensation Salary commensurate with experience and certification. Fully paid medical, dental and life insurance; tuition reimbursement program; enrollment in Pennsylvania State Employee Retirement System (PSERS) and 403b options; performance pay program.
