Pan American Academy Charter School's "Dual Language Program" is a 50/50 model, meaning that instruction in all content areas is provided 50% in English and 50% in Spanish. Currently, the program is operational in grades K-3. Students in grades 4-7, however, study Spanish as a world language one class period per week.

In each successive year another grade will be incorporated into the 50/50 model. In other words, this year's 2nd grade students will participate in the 50/50 model next year as 3rd graders. This trend will continue until Pan American Academy is a fully bilingual school in grades K-8.

Although instruction is 50% in English and 50% in Spanish in all content areas, this does not mean that students study all the same texts translated from English into Spanish. What it does mean is that the same standards, curricular goals and teaching methods are being used in both the English and Spanish classes. Although students may read different materials in the two languages or practice different math exercises, for example, instruction is geared to help students master curricular goals for their respective grade levels in two languages!
